THE EVITA COMPLETE RECORDING PETITION
WHY A PETITION? Many of you have probably already purchased the new 2006 London Cast Recording of Evita or are going to do so in the weeks to come.
Although it is no doubt an excellent album, the Philip Quast Guide Team cannot refrain from thinking that 70 minutes don't do justice to this fantastic revival production. Why wasn't a Complete Recording planned from the beginning? So many beautiful orchestrations (not to speak of some key scenes between the wonderful Elena Roger and Philip Quast) have been regrettably cut out from the newly-released Album and this is causing a great deal of frustration among all those who have always been fond of this musical, and especially among the people living overseas, many of whom will never get the chance to attend the live show in London.
As we all know, the cast and orchestra of Evita are contracted at least until April 2007, therefore it's not unrealistic to envisage the possibility of producing a Complete Recording. The final result would be even more thrilling, now that the entire cast have had the time to settle into their respective roles.
WHAT CAN WE DO?
After this deadline we will prepare a short letter to the Production Company of the CD (which includes Lord Lloyd Webber, Sir Tim Rice and Mr Nigel Wright) in which we are going to express our collective wish for a Complete Recording of the 2006 London Cast of Evita. All your "electronic signatures" (and comments) will be listed at the bottom of the letter.
Many musical lovers from all over the world have already supported the Petition, but of course the longer the list of signatures the greater the impact!
We would like to reassure you that our server is totally safe and your details will be kept strictly confidential and will not be used for any purpose other than the "Complete Recording Petition". Also, if you wish to read the text of the draft letter to the production company you can indicate so in the "additional comments" section of the form.
Many thanks to Sue S & Gregor for their precious assistance in organising the petition. NOTE: in case you receive an error message on submitting the form below, please send your details through our usual Feedback form. |
