FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS |
PHILIP QUAST - ONSTAGE & OFF |
|
| Q. | Where can I buy tickets for PQ's shows, plays and concerts? |
| A. | As a general rule, always try and book your tickets by contacting (during office hours) the Box Office of the theatre where he is going to perform. Some larger theatres (the NT, the RAH) also have an online booking service. Beware: ticket agents (both via the Internet or by phone) generally charge a booking fee. You will find all the booking details relating to any forthcoming PQ appearance on the relevant pages of the PQ Guide.
|
| Q. | How can I contact PQ? |
| A. | On the Contact Page you will find the address of PQ's agents in London and Sydney. Your letter will then be forwarded to him. No guarantee for a reply, but you might be in for a pleasant surprise in the medium-long term!
|
| Q. | When is PQ's birthday? Where does he live? How old are his children? What's his favourite restaurant? |
| A. | On this website you won't find any extra 'hot details' about PQ's private life other than those that have been made public in past articles and interviews to various media. If this kind of info is really vital to you, read through the Articles & Interviews section and have fun.
|
| Q. | Does a Philip Quast Fan Club exist? |
| A. | Not to our knowledge, neither have we heard of any plans to create one (...thank Goodness!). However, this doesn't prevent the "Quast community" from sticking together and constantly keeping in touch. Our Message Board is an excellent place for that purpose and everybody is welcome to join and raise whatever Quast-related (or theatre-related) topic.
|
| Q. | Is PQ really as nice a guy as everybody says? |
| A. | YES!! |
MERCHANDISE |
|
| Q. | I live in the US (Australia, Latin America...). Where can I buy PQ's CDs and videos? |
| A. | On the PQG Shopping Page you can find links - ordered geographically - to all the major online retailers which stock music and video items featuring PQ.
|
| Q. | Is the Australian series The Damnation of Harvey McHugh commercially available on DVD? |
| A. | Despite our reiterated requests, ABC Television has no plans to release the series on DVD in the near future. In November 2008 all the episodes were re-broadcast and some PQG readers have cleverly recorded and saved it. If you wish to receive a copy (7 DVDs) please get in touch with the PQG Team and all the necessary arrangements will be made. You will only be charged the costs related to the blank media and postage. |
| Q. | Has a CD of any of the 1000 Voices Concerts (1999 & 2003) ever been released? |
| A. | Unfortunately no official recording of either Concert is available, but it seems that a bootleg recording of the 1999 edition was somehow officially released at a given moment... Sorry, we are not able to give any further info about the whole affair.
|
| Q. | Where can I buy the CD of the Richard Rodgers Centenary Concert recorded by the BBC in 2002? |
| A. | The Richard Rodgers Concert was only broadcast on BBC Radio 3 in June 2002 (as part of the weekly programme Friday Night is Music Night). No official CD of the concert has ever been released. If you wish to receive a copy of the radio broadcast (2 CDs) please get in touch with the PQG Team and all the necessary arrangements will be made. You will only be charged the costs related to the blank media and postage. |
| Q. | Where can I find programmes and souvenir brochures of PQ's shows? |
| A. | If the show is still running or has just closed you can contact the relevant theatre. If you are looking for items relating to past productions the best thing to do is to keep an eye on auctions on eBay. Some old programmes (e.g. Sunday in the Park with George, The Hunting of the Snark...) regularly become available at reasonable prices. |
THE PHILIP QUAST GUIDE |
|
| Q. | How did the Philip Quast Guide start? |
| A. | Back in 1997 Rose started to put together lots of precious PQ-related infos. Since then the Philip Quast (Page) Guide has constantly expanded, thanks also to the contribution of several friends. In March 2003 Eli joined in as co-webmaster and the revamped Philip Quast Guide was launched. Considering the ever-growing amount of material available another major re-design was carried out in late 2005. Don't hesitate to let us know your views about the PQG's look and features.
|
| Q. | Why have you set up a password to access the Premium Features? |
| A. | The purpose of our password-protected Premium Features is NOT to prevent our visitors, old or new, from visiting the PQ Guide in its entirety, but simply to make less "public" some of the more exclusive sections of the site (eg. older reviews, photos, radio interviews...). You can all easily access the Premium Features by typing the words "philip" as Username and "quast" as Password (lowercase, no quotes). Please note that the login to the Premium Features of the PQG has nothing to do with your registration/login details for the PQG Message Board.
|
| Q. | Do you get paid? |
| A. | The PQG is a non-commercial, non profit-making website and we do not accept sponsors or donations of any kind (though we warmly welcome any suggestions or written contributions). The links to shops and theatres serve the sole purpose of providing useful info to our readers.
|
| Q. | What's the difference between Site Updates and Latest News? |
| A. | The Site Updates Page announces any changes or additions to the site, which can concern both current and past shows, movies or merchandise. The Latest News Page reports any news that have become available concerning PQ's future artistic engagements.
|
| Q. | Where do you find all the news? |
| A. | Whenever circumstances allow, Philip Quast keeps us informed about his forthcoming plans, and we are hugely grateful to him for his assistance. Other sources are the various theatre portals on the Internet (see Links Page) and the International Press. Many thanks also to all the friends and readers who occasionally send in news and updates.
|
| Q. | Does the site get a lot of visitors? |
| A. | Even though no counter is displayed on the Home Page we can keep track of the number of people who visit the site (over 100,000 so far!), their country of origin (the list includes Mexico and China!), the most popular pages, as well as other technical details. While fully preserving our visitors' privacy this kind of info helps us to continuously improve the site's contents and structure.
|
| Q. | How big is the Philip Quast guide? |
| A. | As of February 2010the site consisted of over 700 pages, covering around 800 MB of webspace. It included more than 1,000 photos, over 100 audio samples, several videoclips and links to 2,000 external pages. Since February 2006, when we started gathering statistics, more than 100,000 unique visitors have visited the website, for a total of over 400,000 page views.
|
| Q. | What does PQ think of this site? |
| A. | We are obviously proud to have received Mr Quast's "seal of approval" about the PQG's existence. We are also hugely grateful to him for supporting our willingness to keep informed all the people who are genuinely interested in his career. |
