The reinvention of the Tim Rice-Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Evita by Michael Grandage won't lack authenticity.
The award-winning director will travel to Buenos Aires next month, once he's finished staging Mark Ravenhill's new play The Cut with Ian McKellen at the Donmar in Covent Garden.
Lloyd Webber and choreographer Rob Ashford will tag along, too.
Now, as predicted in these pages, they've got Argentinian singer Elena Roger in the title role, Grandage and his creative team are determined to give the production, which opens at the Adelphi Theatre in June, as much Latin American flavour as possible.
