SPOTLIGHT TO FALL ON BUSH AND BLAIR

One of the most eagerly-awaited plays this summer is Stuff Happens, Sir David Hare's take on the political build-up to the Iraq war.

 

It is due to open at the National Theatre in September and rehearsals start on Monday. Yesterday the full cast list was released.

The job of playing George W Bush has fallen, a little improbably, to the effervescent and cherubic-faced British actor Alex Jennings, seen at the National last year being "just a little bit gorgeous" with a matinee-idol moustache in His Girl Friday. Shortly before that, he won an Olivier award for playing Professor Higgins in My Fair Lady.
