In 1991, Brides of Christ was a controversial smash hit TV mini-series, and it now makes its way to DVD. FILMINK's Erin Free spoke to pioneering producer Penny Chapman about the series' anticipated re-release.
"The first call into the ABC the morning after the first episode went to air was someone saying, 'you will go to hell'," says producer Penny Chapman of the groundbreaking TV mini-series Brides Of Christ. "But for every one of those, there were ten letters from nuns, priests, and church goers who wrote in support of what we were doing."
