LA CAGE AUX FOLLES

From the initial blinding of sequins to the pneumatic antics of its leggy cast the hilarious La Cage Aux Folles doesn't leave a hair extension or a chicken fillet out of place.

But nestled in the corseted bosom of this sparkling romp is the genuinely heartwarming love between a nightclub owner (Georges) and his tempera-mental transvestite partner (Albin).

Roger Allam, newly ensconced in the role of Albin, famous on the nightclub scene for his big-wigged drag act Madame Zaza, takes the role of drama queen to dizzying levels.
