(The following review was part of an article concerning also other recent London openings)
It is also a thrill to see how lovingly the West End continues to embrace La Cage aux Folles and to see it go from strength to strength with the arrival of a stellar new pair of leading men, Roger Allam and Philip Quast, as the long-term gay couple who are respectively star and proprietor of a St Tropez drag nightclub. They are sweet and above all real, investing their roles with dignity and charm that brings new depth to this seemeingly light and fluffy show, but Terry Johnson's production is also still a sheer delight.
