The theatre is just like the Donmar only four times as big, so if you went to Philip's concert there, you have some idea of it. Philip's performance was as usual, you can't fault it. You first see him as you go to your sests, he is lying on an old bed, which is far to small for his frame, the character has fallen asleep whilst reading, and wakes up when the family who own the estate arrive. Though eventually he finds the money to buy the estate (pardon me if i'm wrong), it doesn't really explain how he becomes so rich, he never really leaves the peasant behind, and the family still treat him as such.

The 3rd Act is truly memorable, as his character comes through the door, one of the daughters hits him in the face with a piece of wood, thinking that he is robber. He spends the whole act, punch drunk; and deliouserly happy, because he's just brought the orchard. Act 3 is also beautifully set, with loads of candles alight. His character is dressed to a certain extent like Emile, only the ill fitting suit is dark, acts 2 and 3 he is dressed in a brown light jacket and with the hat, is it the same one, from SP.
