GROWING PAINS
by Michael Smith

Introducing the Dwights confronts all the pains and joy of life

No parent wants his or her child to grow up too quickly. OK, maybe age 2 -- that whole year can be skipped.

Just kidding, and so is Introducing the Dwights, a heartfelt Australian comedy that, like its leading lady, finds most of its humor through awkward moments and emotional pain.
Because that's life. That's parenting. That's love. Joy, pain and exhaustion all have their place.
Jean Dwight (Brenda Blethyn, Pride and Prejudice) doesn't want her two boys to grow up at all. Both in their 20s, she's become dependent on them.
But they've become men, and she's depended on a man before. That ended in divorce.
